Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust Digitises Impact Measurement with SportFin.

SportFin is delighted to have Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust (BUCST) become the world’s first community football organisation to join the SportFin movement!

SportFin is a new digital platform which helps community sport clubs harness real-time data to better understand the positive social impacts their sport activities are having on their community, and use this data to raise funds more efficiently.

The SportFin platform allows BUCST to collect live participation and volunteering data through a simple ‘roll-call’ process at their sessions. SportFin then automatically generates a real-time impact report for BUCST from this data, which can then be shared to BUCST's funders and other stakeholders to improve fundraising efforts.

“Innovation is one of our core values and so when we sought to improve our data-collection and impact-reporting processes, joining SportFin was a perfect match.

As an impact-driven organisation, improving our capacity to interpret our data into clear impact outputs will really help to enhance our business operations, so we’re excited to get started.” Oli Moore, Community Development Manager for BUCST.

The SportFin impact analytics model correlates live sport participation and volunteering data to outcomes in physical and mental health improvement, educational capability development and social capital development - key data funders require to evidence the social impact of their funding.

In fact, the funders we have spoken to have told us that they would be 50% more likely to fund a community sport club/organisation and be willing to give 3 times more funding if they could track this data in real-time!

Siddesh Iyer, Founder of SportFin, commented: "At SportFin, we are very excited to be working with Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust in helping them evidence the positive social impacts they generate for their community.

Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust do tremendous work for people from various backgrounds, using football as tool to foster better health, education, and social capital.

We hope that by using our impact reporting tool, Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust can improve the social impact they have on their community, and fundraise better to sustain and grow their organisation."

Oli Moore Adds, “We’re very grateful to the Velocity Somerset Programme who have provided funding which enables us to purchase our 1st year subscription to the SportFin platform as well as Apple iPad devices.

This will allow our staff to collect the data live at sessions, improving our data-input processes which feed the SportFin platform to increase our impact reporting.”
